Groundbreaking Begins for CCOD Tertiary Institution Complex with ICT Hub

unyani, Ghana – April 9, 2024– The College for Community and Organisational Development (CCOD) has officially commenced construction on its ambitious Tertiary Institution Complex, featuring a state-of-the-art ICT Hub aimed at transforming higher education and digital literacy in Ghana and across West Africa.

The landmark project, which broke ground today in the Bono Region, is poised to serve as a dynamic center for tertiary education, innovation, and technological advancement. The CCOD Tertiary Institution Complex will include lecture halls, libraries, and a cutting-edge ICT Hub designed to support students, researchers, and entrepreneurs alike.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Dr. Gabriel Gbiel Benrakuu, Pricident of CCOD, emphasized the strategic importance of the project. “This institution will not only serve as a center for academic excellence but also as a launchpad for technological innovation and youth empowerment. The ICT Hub, in particular, will bridge the digital divide and promote skills development for the future economy,” he said.

The project aligns with the government’s vision for expanding access to quality tertiary education and promoting digital transformation across the country. Representatives from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Communication and Digitalisation were in attendance, expressing their support and commitment to the initiative.

Construction of the complex is expected to be completed in phases, with the first phase set for completion in late 2026. Once operational, the institution is projected to admit over 5,000 students and support hundreds of tech-driven enterprises annually.

The CCOD Tertiary Institution Complex with ICT Hub marks a significant step toward sustainable education and economic development, creating opportunities for communities across Ghana and beyond.
